COTTONWOOD, ALA. - Joseph E. Christmas, 81, of Cottonwood, father of Mrs. O.L. Lunsford of Curhbert, Ga., died Wednesday night at Southeastern General Nursing Home in Dothan following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Christmas was a native of Jackson County, Fla., and had resided in Cottonwood for about 60 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Jeremiah and Martha Burner Christmas, and his wife was the late Antie M. Hughes.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. (CDT) Friday at the Cottonwood City Cemetery with Lunsford Funeral Home of Cuthbert in charge.
Survivors include four sons, Dr. W. J. Christmas of Monroe, La., Robert E. Christmas of Ashford, Ala., Joe Christmas, Jr. of Cottonwood and the Rev. Charles M. Christmas of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters, Mrs. O.L. Lunsford of Cuthbert, Mrs. J.C. Lathrop of Ferandina Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Earnest Williams of Clanton, Ala., and 14 grandchildren.
Living in Queen City, TX on Nov. 16, 1943.
