Mrs. Juanita McCowan Christmas, 82, of 1949 Ebenezer Road died Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. today, Jan. 21, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Napier officiating. A native of Gaffney, Mrs. Christmas was a daughter of the late James Purvis McCowan and the late Grace Medlin Burgstrom. She was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing and attended Eastside Baptist Church. She was the widow of B. David Christmas Sr.Surviving are three sons, B. David Christmas Jr. of Columbia, Paul R. Christmas of Rock Hill and Donnie W. Christmas of Spartanburg; three sisters, Frances Haley of Houston, Texas, Virginia Grant of Rock Hill and Shirley Reed of California; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Gayle Parrish and her brother, J.P. McCowan.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill and following the service at the home.
Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church, building fund, 318 N. Jones Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730.

My grandmother was Eva Mills Broom Timms, married to James Henry Timms. Their son James Mark Timms was my father. I have two brothers James Russell and Jerry Mark along with me Spencer Lewis Timms. My mother is Minnie Walker Timms Wells. Do you have any information on the connection of great grandmother Virginia Christmas Broom's line connected to Rev. Billy Graham's mother whom I am told was also a Christmas. This is from handed down info. from deceased aunts and uncles.
