Sheppie's daughter Elizabeth Eloise was about 13 and had a leaking heart since birth. She was going to have heart surgery at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC, but they found a blot clot in her brain. They had to do surgery to remove the blood clot before they could do the heart surgery. Before they could do surgery, Elizabeth died. Sheppie, who was pregnant with my father Larry Evans, had a nervous breakdown. The story, as told by Sheppie, was that she saw a light and went to it and came to a river, and she heard a voice say "You have a choice. You can come home with Elizabeth or go back and raise your children." She chose to raise her children. Sheppie, as told, was dead 17 minutes. Grandma always said that was Jesus talking to her. Larry was born Sept 26, 1954. I do not know at which hospital this took place.
