I thought you might like to add that he was killed in an airplane accident near Spence Air Force Base in Georgia, and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Services for James Thomas Tindall will be held Thursday at 3:00 P.M. in Sardis Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 Wednesday in Cooper Funeral Home in Dillon. Mr. Tindall, 70, died Tuesday at his residence. Born in Dillon County, September 22, 1933, he was the son of the late Tommy Tindall and Elise Smith Tindall Cook.He was a Quality Control Engineer with United Technology and the Lear Corporation for 32 years, was a U.S. Army Veteran, member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Bennettsville, and actively attended First Baptist Church of Surfside Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Turner Tindall of Myrtle Beach; daughter, Beverly T. [WHT comments:] Aunt Sadie was a remarkable lady; the first time I met her was at the Christmas Family Reunion in 1980, the year my dad died. Dad had visited Sadie many times over the years, but due to my school, work, etc., he had never taken me for a visit. I introduced myself as Herbert's son and she knew my name was Buddy before I could tell her. I did not attend the reunion again until 1989; when I tried to introduce myself to Sadie, she cut me off by telling me she knew who I was. With all the nieces, nephews and grand nieces/nephews she had, it was amazing how she remembered all of the names. She was a joy to talk with and I appreciated the stories she told me about my dad and grandparents.Sadie & Fauline, my g-mother, resemble each other a lot; my wife & I went to Florence, SC on May 9, to visit aunt Sadie in a nursing home; unfortunately, she had died the previous week. She was a nice lady and the last of William Anderson's 13 children; from his birth to her death was a span of 142 years; they saw a lot of history; I miss her.

My name is Dorothy Altieri-Sollecito. My mother is Violet Edna Christmas-Altieri. She is the Daughter of Paul Horace Christmas. What a surprise to start tracing my ancestry and find all the information you collected. You had so much information, I couldn't figure out where you were on the tree.
I have some information to add/change. Paul Horace Christmas married Edna Harriet Bockey (not Edna Harriet Horton) They had two daughters Violet Edna Chrismas born 3/17/1927 (living) and Dorothy Marie Christmas born 10/19/1920 died 12/21/1995. Paul Horace's 2nd wife Mary Gertrude Aiken (known as May) was previously married to Vincent DE Paul Lynch. They had no children. Paul Horace's 3rd wife was Martha Margaret Hall. Hall was her maiden name. Her previous husband died his last name was Vickers and they had two children James and Martha. Walter Clarence Senior's daughter was Hazel Mildred. Walter Clarence Jr. (nickname Buddy) married Gloria (don't know her last name) and they had a daughter named Carol who would have been born 1940 or 1941. Walter Clarence Jr. drown in a lake at a navy picnic. My Mom still keeps in touch with Aunt Elizabeth from Virginia. She was married to the late James Howard. Dee (Dorothy)

I am the granddaughter of James Howard Christmas (Jesse, William G., etc.). Our family research was only to William and Nathan Christmas and that information is sketchy. I tried to access the picture of William G. Christmas but was unable to do so. Could you send me a copy? Also, do you have all of William's Civil War records or should I try to obtain those directly from the Archives?
I do have a few corrections. This is on Jesse Calais Christmas' line.
1. Paul Horace Christmas married Edna Harriet BOCKEY the daughter of Claude J. Bockey of Whitehall, VA. My grandmother, Elizabeth Christmas verified this information with their daughter Vi Christmas Alteri. I have her response in my possession. I don't know where the name Horton came from. We have his 2nd wife listed as Mary Gertrude Aiken Lynch and his 3rd wife as Martha Margaret Hall Vickers.
2. We have Eva Christmas' death date as August 28, 1990. Place of death is listed as Panama City, Florida.
3. Thelma Christmas died February 12th or 13th, 1974. I have an obituary for her dated Friday, February 15, 1974 stating she died on Tuesday (12th). I also have a copy of the card given out at her funeral. The printed death date is February 13, 1974, but on my copy the 13th was crossed out and the 12th written in. In any case, the year is 1974.
4. Our information on Juanita (Augusta) states that she died April 22, 1990.

Annie Elizabeth Christmas, 94, passed away November 13, 2009, in Chesapeake General Hospital. She was born in Cocoa, FL and raised in Jacksonville, FL. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Ethel Armstrong, and the widow of her husband of 45 years, James H. Christmas. She was predeceased by a son, James H. Christmas, Jr.; a sister, Alwilda VanSant; and a brother, Elwood Armstrong. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church for 22 years. Mrs. Christmas was a former bookkeeper and a longtime volunteer at NDC Med Center. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Sturtevant and her husband, Ralph; one granddaughter, Janice Lynn Jacobs and her husband, Bruce of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; two great-grandchildren, Christina and Noah Jacobs; a niece, Janet Zapata of Short Hills, NJ; two nephews, Allen VanSant and wife Marcia of Lanoka Harbor, NJ and William Armstrong and wife Pat of Little Silver, NJ; as well as beloved cousins, other family and friends. A funeral will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jeff Bell. A graveside funeral will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL. Friends may join the family at the church one hour prior to the service for visitation. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel is handling the arrangements. March 28th, 2005. Her mother was Arlenia Christmas (dau of James Dodge Christmas and Charity Jane Coates.) Jonathan Christmas line.
I have an audio tape that she tells of events during her life that I plan to put on CD. Let me know if your website can support audio and I will share it. She was making these tapes at my urging and seemed to enjoy doing it. I also have some photos. I will continue to do research on the Christmas line as I am able.
