7127. Maggie Jean Luellen-3554

Muskogee Daily Phoenix and Times-Democrat (OK) - Nov. 22, 2008 - GenealogyBank.com
Mrs. Maggie Jean Eversole, after 79 years, passed from this life at Broadway Manor Nursing Home in Muskogee, OK on Thursday, November 20, 2008 after a long battle with illness. Maggie was born on November 6th, 1929 in Wagoner, OK to Dee Marcus and Mattie Bell (Cook) Luellen. On June 30th, 1964 Maggie got married to a good old boy from Yonkers, Oklahoma named Otis H Eversole, Sr. These two love birds got hitched in Hulbert, OK and honeymooned in Colorado Springs, CO. Being a beautician was what Maggie did for nearly 28 years in the Muskogee area. At one time she owned and ran two beauty shops. She was always very proud of where her shears and talent had taken her in life and met many wonderful people along the way.

Maggie was preceded in death by her husband Otis H. Eversole, Sr. She had four sisters and five brothers who preceded her in death, Bernice Collins, Leona Darrow, Jane Luellen, and Stella Luellen who died shortly after her birth, Floyd Luellen, Herbert Luellen, Tom Luellen, Calvin Luellen, and Chuck Luellen. Being the last of her siblings to leave this earth always saddened mother. One of her last requests was to have her siblings be her honorary pallbearers.

Maggie Jean Eversole leaves behind two sons, Charles W. Henson, Jr. and his wife Lana, of Muskogee, OK; Kevin Eversole and his wife Mary, of Muskogee, OK. She is survived by her grandchildren: Hannah Henson and Zac Cashion; Dylan Eversole, Kayla Moore, all of Muskogee; Samantha Moore of Tucson AZ; Chris Henson and his wife Danielle, of Overland Park, KS; Ashley and her husband Allen Hightower of Del City, OK and two great grandchildren, Aspen and Aven Hightower.

Most people knew my mother by the name of Jean. I knew her as a strong determined woman who showed the family how tough she really was when she battled breast cancer. She put up a great battle over the years and not once cried or complained. I was truly humbled watching her fearless approach. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by family and loved ones. Great thanks go out to Broadway Manor Nursing Home and St. Francis Hospice, for the wonderful care they provided to mother and our family during our time of need.

Services for Maggie Jean Eversole will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Bradley Belltower Chapel with Reverend Rusty Williams officiating. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Muskogee for all who wish to attend. The family has entrusted Bradley Family Funeral Service of Muskogee with the arrangements. Friends may send condolences to the family in the web page www.bradleyfuneralservice.com
