While researching Christmas data at the Logan Co, KY courthouse, I made the following discovery:Someone has altered the marriage bond of William Christmas and Catherine "Wooldridge." Catherine's actual last name, Woodring, was crossed out and the name Wooldridge was written in by some one.
Please make the following correction to William's line: William Christmas married Catherine Woodring on 7 May 1827. She is the daughter of Peter Woodring and Rose Matthews.

William Christmas (#1209) was involved in a divorce suit that did not begin until 1856. So he did not die on 15 May 1855.

H. G. married Nancy Jenkins #724 b ca 1815/16... Harrison Green Christmas #723 b abt 1815... The 1900 census lists Harrison's bd as April, 1813. His age varies on most of the census recs I have found: 1850, 35; 1860, 48; 1870, 56; 1880, no found yet. May want to show his bd as 1812-15? The other people in the household match up too well to be a different H.G.Looks like he prob died Sept, 1902 altho we haven't documented the "old Christmas gentleman" mentioned in the snippet from the Carrollton Daily Democrat is our Harrison G. Christmas; the clipping from the local newspaper for Sept 8, 1902 about "an elderly gentleman by the name of Christmas" who had passed away in Sumner & had been brought to Carrollton, MO by train for burial in the "Christmas cemetery". We all feel like this is probably Harrison G. Christmas who would have been in his late 80s at that time. However, we have not verified this for sure yet.
Nancy born in KY per census recs dau of Wm. Jenkins & Sarah Engler. Prob died ca 1877-1900 based on census ages of children & not living with H. G. on 1900 census.

According to son Leander's obituary; family lived in Butler Co, KY from 1844 to 1854/55; then moved to Indiana; (From Gayle Kent - Leander's obit info is a little inconsistent. In the first section which is more of an article (headline says "Death of a County Farmer") it reads "Leander Christmas was born in the state of Kentucky, March 31st, 1844 and died, Monday morning, March 22, age 81 years 11 months and 1 day. When ten years of age he moved with is parents to the state of Indiana where he remained for a period of 15 years. In 1869 he moved to Carroll Co and has since made his home on a farm four miles east of this city." Farther down & under the heading "Obit" it states "...he and his young wife moved to Missouri about 1866 and settled near what is known as the Liberty M. E. church. After residing there about two years they moved to his late home east of Carrollton." His obit does mention that son Perry died in 1919 and wife Sarah in 1909. It also states he is survived by twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren (the first section says "several" great grand children) and "other relatives". )
Gayle Kent provided middle name for Nancy.
[WHT: Source: 1999 E-mail between Gayle Kent & Teresa Venable McMillan:]
Eliza Christmas born 1835 in IN based on 1 census of information 1850 census in Warrick Co, IN, 15 IN, see father Harrison G marriage: I was provided information that Eliza married William Tooley but I have not found a marriage record for them or confirmed this in anyway; another (better) possibility is she married Addison Willis but still no record found yet.I just found a piece of paper that a lady in Carrollton gave me that has some Christmas stuff on it. She has that Eliza Jane Christmas married Addison Willis. She made no note of when or where. I wonder if in the 1860 Pike Co, IN census, Anderson Hollis & Addison Willis are the same people, since Anderson Hollis is next door to Harrison Christmas' family?
583. Susan Christmas-728
[WHT: Research & analysis by descendant, Gayle Kent, via Jan. 1999 e-mail.]
Susan Christmas #728 b 1841, IN m. John W. Brittingham #1350...
