Bright Star, now in Miller Co. 1850 census in DeKalb Co., GA. 1855 in Van Wert, Polk Co., GA In 1855 Mose moved West to Van Wert, Polk Co., GA 1860 found them in Bright Star community of Lafayette Co., AR(this became part of Miller Co., in 1874.

1860 Census, Greenville Co., SC; Clean Springs; Dwelling 2038 list A. H. Howard, age 50, farmer, born in SC; wife, Nancy, 38 & 2 children: William, 13 & Martha, 10. [WHT: Brother, P. A. in dwelling 2037.]

[WHT: Info given showed Nancy to be born in 1800, and they were married in 1828. Either that info is wrong, or this is his second wife named Nancy.]

Amelia HOWARD was born on 22 Mar 1811 in Plains, SC. She died on 23 Mar 1902 in Oxford, Lafayette Co., MS. She was buried in Family Cem. Oxford, MS. married David MCNEELY was born on 30 Dec 1804 in Greenville, SC*. He died on 12 Sep 1865 in Oxford, Lafayette Co., MS. He was buried in Cambridge Cemetery, Lafayette Co., MS. David MCNEELY and Amelia HOWARD were married on 1 Jun 1827 in Greenville, SC.

Departed this life, at his residence in Greenville District, on the 9th inst., Mr. Thomas A. Howard, son of Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Mary Howard, in the 33d year of his age. Mr. Howard died of the fever that has proved so fatal in the portion of this District in which he lived. He has left a wife and four children, and a large train of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
