James Miller Christmas was the son of James Yancey Christmas (1824-1879) who married Rhoda G. Whitney. Rhoda G. Whitney was the daughter of Myra Clark Whitney Gaines and William Wallace Whitney, a family famous for their race horses. James Yancey Christmas was the son of Thomas H. Christmas ( ? - 1839/40) who married Elizabeth Chapman Davis. James Yancey Christmas managed several farms in Mississippi and purchased a house in Warrenton in 1869 from a Dr. Wilson. This house is now one of the historical sites called Wilson-Christmas-Davis House. James Yancey Christmas died in Warrenton in 1879.
Thomas H. Christmas was the son of William Christmas (1766-1804) who was the son of Thomas and Sarah Duke Christmas and who married June (Jincey) Yancey (1775-1845).
