[WHT: From Donna Christmas - Aug. 31, 2002:]
Herma is the mother of George Christmas' children, but she left when the children were small.

[WHT: From Donna' sister, Mary J. C. Wooten - Sept. 2, 2002:]
This is a response from Eldon McCrary about his uncle George and aunt Herma. Eldon's dad and Herma were brother and sister. His mother and George Christmas was brother and sister. I thought he might know a little about the facts of George and Herma in the 1920 Census.

<< As far as Uncle George was concerned, at that time he was struggling to raise his 3 daughters. My Grandfather was raising them (This must have been grandpa McCrary, Herma's father) and one day he loaded them up and took them to Uncle George and told him to raise them himself. I don't know where Aunt Herma was but the records show she remarried in 1920 to a Frank Daniels; don't know where; nor where he was from. I saw him one time, at the same time that I first remember seeing my Aunt Herma, probably in the early 30's. They were living in Nebraska at that time. In later years he disappeared, I don't know any details on that. Aunt Herma spent her last years living in Princeton with Bethel.>>

Herbert, Here are the children I found in the Kentucky births for Mattie Woodrum. 1. No birth for Leon Christmas listed. 2. Jessie L. Christmas b. 5-2-1930 in Butler County 3. Hollis L. Christmas b. 5-27-1946 in Butler County 3. Dorris E. Christmas b. 12-10-1931 in Butler County 4. No Dean Christmas listed 5. Glendall Christmas b. 5-8-1938 in Butler County 6. Alva D. Christmas b. 7-30-1933 in Butler County Now about Leon and Dean. Since Jessie has the middle initial of L couldn't his name be Jessie Leon Christmas?
