William Henry "Bill" Christmas, 94, of Evansville, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Home. He was born February 13, 1908, in Ditney Hills, Warrick County to Sherman and Eva Christmas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary H. Christmas, who died in 1993. Bill had worked at Servel and during World War II, he was a welder at the Evansville Shipyards. He later went to Hahn Inc., where he retired. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bill also loved to read his Bible and listen to bluegrass music. Bill is survived by his beloved sister, Marjorie Pinkston Sykes of Evansville; two daughters, Frances E. James of Evansville, who cared for him, and Joan E. Herrell of Evansville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; two nieces, Phyllis Truitt and Bonnie Wingerter, both of Evansville; and a nephew, Mosley Cable Gish Jr. of Chandler, Ind. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2002, at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, Franklin and Heidelbach, the Pastor John Newland officiating, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Miller & Miller Colonial Chapel, and Thursday from 10 a.m. to service time.

W. A. Carlton Christmas, 76, of Webster Fla., formerly of Chandler, Ind., died June 19 in a hospital in Leesburg, Fla. He retired from Wright Packing Co. and left Chandler 18 years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Underhill of Webster; four sons, Dr. Ellsworth Christmas of West Lafayette, Ind., Elwood of Boonville, Ind., Norman of Chandler and Oren of Columbus, Ohio. Two brothers, Marion and Charles, both of Boonville, and nine grandchildren
