Mr. Christmas was born October 15, 1951 in Pineville, KY to George Arthur & Mary Dewana Jordan Christmas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Christmas was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gary Christmas; and uncle, James Clute Jordan. Gary Lee Christmas, 43, of Harriman, died Saturday, Dec. 25, at his home. Born March 2, 1961, in Oliver Springs, he was of the Baptist faith. He was a forklift operator in the shipping and receiving department at Chase Scientific. He was loved and will be missed by family and friends.He was preceded in death by mother, Mary D. Christmas. Survivors include daughter, Andrea Christmas of Morgan County; father, George A. Christmas of Rockwood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet S. and John P. Kennedy of Rockwood and Darlene and Murphy Murray of Harriman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Gladys Christmas and Hubert and Robbi Christmas, all of Harriman, Dannie Joe and Sharon Christmas of Knoxville and Darrell Christmas of Oakdale; aunt, Louise Jordan of Wartburg; uncle, Sawyer Jordan of Coalfield; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Funeral service was at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with the Rev. Ben Whittenbarger officiating. Graveside service and burial were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, in Oak Grove Cemetery.
